Family Home Evening Chart

Simple little idea to help with assignments for Family Home Evening! I drew a house and colored with crayons. Then I used some beige polymer clay to make face magnets, and painted them to look like each individual in our family. We keep it up on the refrigerator and the kids LOVE it! I was thinking you could even use big buttons with little cardstock circles glued onto it and then color a face on it-- you know, just in case you are fresh out of polymer clay. Note to self: next time I make this I will laminate the little house...

Homemade cupcake beads and pendants

My obsession with making polymer clay cupcakes got more intense when I discovered the COLORED polymer clay! It's more expensive than plain old white but it sure saves a lot of time not having to PAINT! I love the whimsical look to them, and I happily challenged myself to see how tiny I could actually make a functional bead. Isn't it cute!!!???

Cupcake jewelry

I go through phases of obsessions. This was my cupcake phase. What's not to love about something so cute and sweet? Attatch a card that says something like: "Your friendship sweetens my life", or "how sweet it is to be loved by you" along with a gift like this and you are sure to see some emotion! I made these items for my mom and sister for Mother's day this past year. I also made life size cupcake jewelry boxes. Once I figured out my own technique for the sculpting part it was a really easy project. I will share a tutorial on how to do it soon. I also love making jewelry, so putting these two obsessions together made me pretty happy!

Thanksgiving Day Craft

I helped the kids make these magnets for their teachers last year. They are super easy and quick to make. I got this idea from a cheesy family magazine a few years ago, and as usual I looked at what they did and thought,"that's cute, only I would do this to it, or that..." I also look around my house and see what I could use for any craft that I already own and incorporate that into the idea. Hope this gives you some of your own ideas!
